Fees
I believe in being straightforward about the cost of therapy. You shouldn't have to make a phone call to find out if you can afford to be here.
$200 per session
Each session is 55 minutes. The initial consultation session is the same rate and length. I accept payment by credit card, debit card, or HSA/FSA card at the time of the session.
Insurance
I don't participate in insurance panels. This is a deliberate choice. Working outside of insurance means that treatment decisions are made entirely between you and me, not influenced by what a third party will or won't authorize. It also means your therapy records stay private.
That said, I understand that cost matters, and many of my clients do get partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits. Here's how that works: after each session I provide you with a document called a superbill, which is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company needs to process a claim. You submit it to your insurer and they reimburse you directly, typically covering 50 to 80 percent of the session fee depending on your plan.
I'd encourage you to call your insurance company before our first session and ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits. If you're not sure what to ask, I'm happy to walk you through the right questions during our consultation call.
Sliding scale
I reserve a small number of spots in my practice at a reduced fee for clients who need it. If cost is a barrier, please bring it up during our consultation call. There's no application or justification required. It's a simple conversation.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of your care. This estimate is provided before your first session and is based on the services we discuss during your consultation. If you have questions about this, I'm happy to explain further.
Questions about fees?
I know the financial side of therapy can feel complicated, especially if you haven't navigated it before. If you have questions about cost, insurance, or anything on this page, the easiest thing to do is reach out. I'm happy to talk through it.
